When I visited Abby Franquemont, I had the extraordinary opportunity to join a group workshop run by Nilda Callañaupa Alvarez, for the members of the Santo Tomas Center for Traditional Textiles of Cusco. These skeins were dyed with local plants and cochineal during the 2-day workshop, and proceeds are going back to Abby to support her educational work about traditional indigenous Peruvian textile techniques.
100% wool, hand dyed with natural dyes in Peru. Total yarn length is approx. 400 meters.
Each comes with a printed canvas tote bag and a bracelet hand-woven in Peru.
