Week #2 means 35% OFF!
It's the second week of our closing sale which means that pretty much everything is now 35% off (excluding repair parts and kits). The prices shown in product listings are the normal retail prices, the 35% off discount is shown AFTER items are added to your cart.
We've also made it easier to see what's still in stock by showing “In Stock” or “Sold Out” on product thumbnails, so you can easily scroll through the whole sale page and see at a glance what's what. Or shop by category.
For the yarn folks, we have a lot of notions left, including Glow Gauges, Knitting Rulers, StitchFishes, and large stitch sets of Card Gauges.
For the electronics folks, we have a bunch of soldering kits, breadboarding helpers, and LED controller Buddy Boards. These are great for adding USB power to your LEDs, and you can solder Pebble-style LED strands directly to the boards. No finicky splicing! A Pixelblaze LED controller solders right to the back of the board, but you can wire them to any controller.
Spotlight on Glowies
We realized that we were missing photos and choices for a bunch of different colors of Star and Raindrops Glowies! Both are available in: red, warm white, cold white, green, blue, cyan, and hot pink.
For the Raindrops, all of them have the animated “raindrop” mode, and when you cycle the on/off switch, they stay in solidly lit-up mode! Pretty cool, you can choose whether you want the motion or not.
Our Flames are also animated, but don't have a solid mode. They always lightly flicker and I think look like little rockets.
We also have 5 colors of yarn balls - and these LED shapes were made custom just for us! The “light pink” has a hint of purpley lavender to it, and is an uncommon LED color. So if you want to impress your electronics nerd friends, that's the one to get. :)
Shipping Update
We've been working our butts off and getting a lot of stuff out the door, our USPS pick-ups have been pretty big for the last few days! This is just a reminder that when you get your order, please open and check it ASAP to make sure there are no issues. We don't have a lot of time to correct mistakes, and the sooner we know about any, the better!
We're caught up on orders of notions and electronics kits and Glowies, which are all now ready to ship the next business day.
We're working on finishing up SkeinTwister parts, and have shipped out some of those orders that had parts ready to go. We're also starting to organize for Swift Repair kits.
All the while, we're answering questions as they come in and are caught up on emails. So if you've emailed us and haven't received a response, please check your spam folder or email us again. Even if you haven't emailed us, we may have emailed you with a question, so check your spam folder anyway! :)

More awesome folks have been joining the Alpenglow Discord server yay! There are fiber folks and electronics artists, making everything from cast aluminum packing peanuts to fun bleep-bloop synthesizers. Come on over! It's a fun mix and you don't have to be an expert on anything to join the convo and ask questions. Anti-gatekeeping is a big deal for me when it comes to electronics and tech, so if you're curious, I welcome you!
Supplies and Shop Stuff
In early March we'll start looking at everything in the shop that's not product inventory, and making plans to sell extra stuff. We don't have prices yet, but we're going to have:
- Glitter acrylic, 3mm, 12 x 18" sheets, some colors that are difficult to find at the normal retail places. Can be shipped.
- Cameras, microphones, lights, and some tripods and mounting hardware for them. Can be shipped.
- Sound-absorbing tiles and foam panels. Pick up only.
- Electronics components. Can be shipped.
- Soldering irons and supplies. Can be shipped.
- Electronics test equipment. Pick up only for anything large or rack-mounted.
- Electronics ESD-safe test benches. Pick up only.
- Black grid wall panels and accessories. Pick up only.
- Chrome racks / shelving. Pick up only.
- Chairs (most are rolling). Pick up only.
- Desks (motorized standing). Pick up only.
- Refrigerator & microwave. Pick up only.
- Leather couch (black, good condition). Pick up only.
Pick up is at our shop in San Luis Obispo, California and we'll announce an open house weekend in late March when everything will be available.
