Backorders ship in 2-4 weeks.
Got soldering kits that take side-insert CR2032 holders? Want to get rid of that coin cell holder and convert it to USB? The Coin Cell Be Gone does exactly this! Solder it directly to either a through-hole or surface mount side-insert footprint at the 3 castellations. The GND pad is designed to be exactly in the middle of the footprint, so it doesn't matter how big or small the GND pad on the footprint is, it'll still work!
Sold in 5-packs.
There are two versions:
- 3V - the most common case, where a kit uses a single CR2032 battery
- 5V - in cases where kits use 2 stacked CR2016 batteries (~5-6V output)
Features:
- Easy to solder for beginners
- Compatible with SMT or through-hole footprints for side-insert 20mm wide coin cell batteries
- Works with any USB-C or USB-A output power supply or battery pack (onboard CC resistors)
- 10 ohm resistor inline with the output mimics the internal resistance of a CR2032 battery, making it suitable for kits that drive LEDs directly without a current-limiting resistor
- 3V version: Onboard voltage converter features short-circuit and overcurrent (>250mA) protection
- 5V version: Onboard PTC fuse provides overcurrent protection
These come in a strip of 5 pieces, use pliers and wiggle them at the mousebites to separate.
