Description
This is a solder-it-yourself version where YOU supply the LED! The photos with the star above are provided for reference only, you will not receive a star. This was a special request and is not yet a fully supported product. You will receive one assembled Glowie base which includes:
- Circuit Board (USB charging, power switch, & battery management onboard)
- Battery (110-125 mAh LiPo)
- Front and Back Cover
- Jewelry findings if you want them - tell us what type in order notes
The large gold pads are clearly labeled + and - in the copper. There is a 100 ohm resistor between the battery and LED output for current limiting. Note the covers are tricky to remove without breaking the tabs, when we have time, we'll make a video on how to assemble/disassemble, but for the time being, we recommend keeping the covers on and living with the 100 ohm resistor.
These are rechargeable via USB and will last ~12 hrs on a single charge.
There is a charge indication LED underneath the shape on the left:
Pink = Charging
Cyan = Full
You will need to provide your own USB-C cable and charger.
About Glowies
Glowies last 12 hrs on a single charge and are rechargeable using any USB charger.

Materials:
- Necklace is a flexible black plastic with stainless steel clasp and small chain, adjustable from 17.5-19.5"
- Fish Hooks are stainless steel
- Lobster Claws are stainless steel with magnets
Electronic jewelry has some special considerations for care & storage! It contains and battery and electronics, so treat it more like a delicate phone than typical jewelry.
Cleaning:
Avoid water and do not submerge it in any liquid. Exposed metal can be conductive. While the LED legs have been coated with a clear insulative layer, it can wear off, be scratched off, or dissolve in chemical cleaners. It's OK to spot clean the hook, jump ring, black plastic case, and LED shape with an alcohol wipe, but avoid the exposed legs.
Storage:
We recommend storing each Glowie individually in a small bag or box so that other metal jewelry doesn't rub against it or scratch it. Remember that it contains a battery, so store it at room temperature, and out of direct sunlight. Using and charging your Glowie regularly will help prolong the battery life.
